Cold email that quotes the prospect's own website
The most convincing personal line is one they wrote themselves. Here is how to use it without getting anything wrong.
Why quote instead of paraphrase
A paraphrase can drift into something they never said. A quote is either on their page or it is not, so it can be checked. It also shows the reader that a person, or at least a careful process, actually looked at their site.
An example
On the clinic's site: Same-week appointments for the whole family.
Hi Harbor Dental team,
Your site says: “Same-week appointments for the whole family.” Offering that means a late cancellation leaves a gap you would rather fill.
We send appointment reminders patients can answer, so a slot someone gives up goes to the next person on your waiting list.
Would a short outline of how that works for a clinic your size be useful?
Rules that keep it honest
- Quote exactly, at least a few words, from a page you actually fetched.
- Name the page the quote comes from, so it can be checked.
- One quote, one problem. Tie the quote to the single thing you solve.
- No flattery (“love what you are doing”), no hype words, no invented numbers.
- No links in a first email, and always a plain way to say no.
How Honest Intros enforces it
Honest Intros reads a few pages of each prospect's site and keeps the text. Every draft must quote that text word for word; a check finds the quote on the page before the draft can reach your queue. Drafts that fail are set aside with the reason, and you see the quote highlighted next to every email you approve.
Questions
How do I personalise cold email from a prospect's website?
Read their site, pick one sentence that says something specific about how they work, quote it exactly, and connect it to one problem you solve. Do not paraphrase and do not flatter.
How do I make sure an AI does not invent facts in cold email?
Require every claim to be a verbatim quote from a page you fetched, and check the quote against that page before the email can be approved.
